My Tarot readings are intended to be transformative experiences. They are opportunities for you to examine and reflect upon the patterns within and around you; for you to deepen your understanding of the approach you have been taking in your life, the fruits of that approach (both those which presently exist and those likely to appear in the future) and whether that approach truly serves; and, if necessary, for you to imagine other possible approaches and to begin to sketch a path towards a new way.
I will be present to illuminate the message of the Tarot as clearly as I can, to hold space for you to consider and process and explore possibilities, and to answer any clarifying questions that I can.
I understand a Tarot reading to be an encounter with the Oracle: that mysterious, irrational force that people have been seeking wisdom from for as long as history remembers. The answers offered by the Oracle are more like riddles than recipes; they are the keys which open up a space for further exploration, the beginning rather than the end of a process.
To facilitate that process, many of my clients take photographs of the spread. This is highly recommended, if you have access to a digital camera and/or cell phone, as a photograph provides you with a focal point that can serve both as a reminder and as a point for further reflection and a continuing exploration of the Oracle’s message.
Recently, several of my clients have come in pairs and both witnessed each other’s readings. This is also highly recommended. Bringing a friend or loved one to sit and listen to your reading can very much help in the absorption of the insights and perspectives offered. A companion can take notes for you, can offer you the perspective of someone who is intimate with your life in ways I am not, and perhaps most importantly can serve as a counterbalance to our human tendency to overlook our own blind spots.
Ultimately, I think the pursuit of self-knowledge and the seeking of Oracular guidance are two sides of the same coin, as suggested by the inscription in the antechamber of the Oracle at Delphi, which read, Know Thyself. This injunction serves as a guiding spirit for the work I do.
